Downloading and installing the PC Client Software for the VZones

System Configuration Summary:

Before using VZones you will need TCP/IP Access to the Internet with a minimum of 56k connection speed, and an Internet email address. You must also have one of the supported Web Browsers installed on your system.

CPU Minimum Requirements:
Required: 486-33 MHz
Suggested: Pentium

System Software:
Recommended: Windows 95
Supported:
Windows 3.11/95/98/2000/ME/XP
Windows NT 3.51/4.0

Web Browsers:
Recommended: Microsoft Internet Explorer or later
Supported:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 for Win95 or later (32 bit versions)
Netscape Navigator 2.0 or later
Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 3.11 (16 bit versions) does not have browser features required for VZones to perform in world web links or Web Touring, either leading or following.

VZones is a 32-bit application and will run as-is on Windows 95/98/2000/ME/NT
To run 32 bit applications on earlier Windows versions you must install the Win32s DLLs.
If you receive this error message when you run or install VZones:
This program cannot be run in DOS mode
Win32s is not installed or is not installed properly.
Win32s versions 1.25 is the minimum level for the VZones client.
Win32s 1.30, installed by PW1118.EXE is available for download from the VZones web site. Please click here to download PW1118.EXE.

Downloading:1. Click the icon to download the installer.
Click to download the 4.0 VZClient and Launcher
2. Save to your desktop so you can find the file later.
Save file to: Desktop
Installation:1. Minimize your web browser.

2. Find your installation file on your desktop or where you downloaded it to. Double click to begin installation.
 
  IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ
The VZones download has been reduced in size to shorten your download time and to speed your access to the world. When entering the world for the first time, you may encounter gray "objects" or "areas." Colorful artwork is downloading in the background. This will occur only the first time you encounter new art. You may fully access the world (walk, talk, communicate) while the art is being updated.
 
 
   
VISTA USERS: SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Because of the new way that Vista runs programs the VZones Launcher MUST be run as an administrator (it is not enough just to be an administrator anymore). To do this you need to right click the VZones Launcher icon and select "Run as administrator" rather then just double clicking it.

You will then be asked to confirm the action. Click the "Allow" link to
start the launcher.
