We have released a new backup system which will start on Tuesday and run daily at midnight and 6:00 AM during this time the world will freeze for around 30 seconds. Once completed you can continue as normal.

This system will be in place for 3 - 6 months while we continue to develop our software & systems for live backup.

Will there be a broadcast info about Backup on the fly routine running?

30 seconds stall is no problem if you know, you are not poofed and the world will recover in 30 sec but without any info, my normal reflex is to exit and log in again

At this stage for a few reasons we won't be sending a page. We are working on getting the frozen time down before then. Its related to the DB size but we are working on it.
