I thought I had read somewhere about engraving orbs but I cannot find it at the moment.

I have an item that has "Engraving Orb" in the title. Are these able to be used to rename an item? If so, is there a way to tell whether it has been used or not?

Wow, I had forgotten about those :p
I'm trying to remember now. I think in nH we used to redeem these at the Engraver's
to get an item engraved that was not necessarily an engravable item.
Anyone else remember these and how we used them?
I'm not sure if it's something Andy want's to still use.
Let's see what he says.

That's exactly what they were used for, to have something engraved
that wasn't engravable .

In DS we needed someone with Oracle powers to have something engraved with these Orbs - the Orb's ID was then changed to add (USED) iirc.
