OK not mentioning names here...

But do we really want in out community certain people posing (and so obviously not so) as female saying they want to see how males react to females in this world? And then being what I consider abusive to women in esp and also on Facebook since the see the person in the beta group?

Age old problem of course. There are always those that are a**hats. I had to deal with some of them in my days way back when as Acolyte, Caretaker and DSWM.

Ignore and block work well of course but I wish there was a way to be politically correct and warn others of such people...

I'm old school... don't F with those I have known and loved for decades!

It is sad but we do have this type of person here...

As I have been on the receiving end I feel that I should reply here.

Personally I can deal with who you are speaking of, it was not pleasant at all but I had the choice of blocking ESP and ESP mail at any moment or put on ignore. I didn't do it because if the part about the disease is correct I feel empathy but would rather see the person get professional help than being shunned IW.

What I find worrying is if a 'weaker' person or newbie runs into this whiteout wall and has no idea how to protect themselves. For that very reason I made staff aware but didn't want action to be taken in my name. IMO the higher-up's need to evaluate and set a limit of what is tolerated.

Greetings All and Yes, this is an age old problem, but since coming back into Worlds last Nov., Ive really gotten the feeling that our new management wants things run differently and better.. They listen to our concerns when we report glitches and problems and work hard to fix them.. I understand this is a *different* kinda glitch, but it needs a *fix* never the less.. This avie in question stops a lot of us from chatting and having the fun we usually do when we're together .. I don't think that's fair to those of us who come here to escape the madness of RW.. I have seen this avie be verbally abusive in open chat to others also.. I don't have any answers, but maybe if we work together, we can find some cause this issue is going to come up from time to time.. Thank U

I tend to be skeptical on such things and while an illness or disease may indeed be a reason for unacceptable behaviors it is not by any means an excuse or justification. I will ignore the individual knowing that my friends being harassed can also deal with it appropriately.

Any of us that have been Staff, be it IW or RW have been taught the same things over the years and it is pointless to repeat it here. However I will tell you what works the best, no matter where or how it occurs - JUST BLOCK the person. Period. If they see they are not bother anyone - or not becoming the center of attraction to everyone - or just causing a uproar, they will move on. If a person has been able to allow a group of people to stop having fun and chatting - then you are feeding the troll (for a lack of better name). Just put them on ignore - takes just a click to do this & when people stop reacting... VIOLA they will move on. Abuse in words (as this is, in a chat world) only can occur when you let it

I have had to deal with such issues here in the DS in the past as "staff" Acolyte, Caretaker and World Manager... I know full well the whole range of ignore etc... the issue is always that once ignored the person moves on to harass someone else. The powers that be are aware of the situation as Bill has mentioned in this tread so it is a matter of anyone being subjected to this saving screen shots and reporting and letting it be dealt with.

Exactly Dopp,, Ignore works .. then the person moves onto the next locale.. I appreciate the Ignore feature and have used it on occasion.. But we don't come in here to Ignore and let this person or anyone who is harassing just sit there and rant on from one locale to the next.. Somethings get worse when ignored .. U gotta get it out by the root ...
