Green dot on Avatar Picture.

Posting in Forums is not something I am used to so finding my way about at the moment. Can someone please tell me what the Green dot on my Avatar picture is for please? I appreciate it could be because I am new to Forum but not sure and would love to know the reason. Thanks. :)
