About VZones Virtual World
VZones traces its roots back to one of the earliest online virtual worlds ever created.
WorldsAway evolved from Lucasfilm’s Habitat in the 1980s widely regarded as the world’s first massively multiplayer online graphical world. In 1989, the technology was licensed to Fujitsu, and in 1995 it launched publicly as WorldsAway on CompuServe, bringing persistent online social spaces to a mainstream audience for the first time.
VZones continues that legacy today.
A Pioneer of Online Worlds
Long before modern MMOs and virtual platforms, Habitat and WorldsAway introduced concepts that are now standard across the internet:
-
Persistent shared worlds
-
Graphical avatars
-
Virtual property and ownership
-
Player-driven economies
-
Online communities built around identity and creativity
VZones carries forward that foundation — not as a fast-paced game, but as a slower, social virtual world built around community and creativity.
What VZones Is Today
VZones is a pixel-based virtual world where members can:
-
Explore multiple themed worlds
-
Chat and build long-term connections
-
Rent and design their own turf (home space)
-
Customise their avatar
-
Collect, trade and use virtual items
It’s a persistent online environment designed for people who value creativity, ownership and community over competition.
A Different Kind of Virtual World
VZones isn’t about rushing or grinding.
It’s about:
-
Building your own space
-
Expressing individuality
-
Meeting real people
-
Being part of a long-running online community
From its origins as one of the first graphical online worlds to its continued evolution today, VZones represents one of the longest-running virtual world lineages on the internet.
