Chat With Ðarksider J and Java Bean & July Prizes
If you haven’t yet attended the weekly radio show at KYMR you are missing out on a lot of fun. The show is on Saturdays at 8pm VZ time. DJs/hosts Ðarksider J and Java Bean alternate the DJ and prize draw host spots each week. The prizes change color each month, so are extremely collectible.
The music selections are eclectic to say the least. One never knows just what songs they will play. They also take requests so everyone can be a part of the fun. You can listen by clicking the button on the bottom right of the client window. Java Bean told me that she and J finally see eye to eye on music and that she brought Country and hip hop/rap to his world. (To which he commented “Blech” LOL)
Dancing is a big part of the fun, especially by Java Bean’s Peanuts. The Peanuts are the small avies who tend to gather at the front of the locale and dance/play guitars/breathe fire, and sometimes nibble on socks. If we are really lucky Bill the Galactic Hero will share his famous arm dance as well.
Both Ðarksider J and Java Bean have been part of these worlds for a long time. Ðarksider J joined DS in 1998 having heard about it on WRIF, a Detroit radio station. Java Bean joined CC/NRW in 1999 through Delphi, and was even an Engraver there. When they aren’t at KYMR, they often can be seen sitting at the Magic Shop Entrance.
In the RW they currently live in Michigan, where Ðarksider J is from. Java Bean is originally from Buffalo, NY and moved to Michigan in 2008. They were married in 2011. J told me that they were introduced by friends and hit it off. Java Bean had a slightly different take. She said “nope I just tolerated him & he thought I was annoying lol” It is very clear when chatting with them that they enjoy each other immensely. They currently share their home with 3 fur babies, 2 dogs and a cat, all boys.
Michigan is sharing the heatwave that is affecting many of us and J told me that after our chat he was thinking of “running nekkid through the sprinkler” LOL He told me I could print that, so, there you go J.
Many thanks to both Ðarksider J and Java Bean for taking the time to chat with me, and to Cosmic Andy who, when he heard about them during Beta, asked them to bring their show to us.
