Events – Locale Builds

I was under the impression that if we are hosting events, we are supposed to be building locales and/or getting help from someone who can, which doesn’t let it fall on the shoulders of our very hard-working staff AKA Polly and Heidia………… or am I wrong?

I have an event coming up Mid-April and worked for several weeks on 3 locales with a little help from Heidia duplicating and painting items that I didn’t have access to. I’ve spent a LOT of tokens creating these rooms <and did in the past for events>. I don’t expect them to do the entire build, nor should I, from the rules you set out.

I know staff can add what they want, but I do NOT expect them to create the whole thing……………. @CosmicAndy , please clarify this. You’ve said that you need ONE MONTH advance notice with event requests.

That’s correct. For member-hosted events, the build should be created by the event host or those working with them. VZones does not handle the build itself, but we can assist toward the end with final tweaks if needed.

If an existing build is available (for example, London) and it’s agreed it can be reused, that’s fine. However, the goal of member events is to encourage members to create something new each time.

Xie, in response to the use of these locales for St Pats, we ran into a few snags that needed a Plan B. It was then agreed the day before the Event was to start, that we should use last year’s St. Pat’s Locales. They were newly built last year for the Staff Event and it made for a great Plan B. As Andy replied here yes, it is the Event Coordinators responsibility to create the locales. Sometimes things happen though that require a quick fix, and we’re lucky to have been able to offer these to the coordinator for approvals.

Thanks Polly… but it wasn’t in reference to the St. Pat’s locales. Appreciate your input tho!
