Game & Event Hosts

Due to increased security requirements from third party providers, and the ongoing DDoS attacks that VZones continues to face, we have been upgrading a significant amount of our website software.

One critical component affected by this work is the schedule system. This software is not originally created by VZones, but it has been heavily customised over time. After several days of investigation and development, we’ve concluded that the best and only stable long term solution is to rebuild the schedule by re-adding all game listings from scratch.

Over the years, listings were not always added consistently, which has resulted in a manually maintained database of around 3,500 entries that would require extensive correction. Starting fresh avoids these issues and gives us a more stable foundation moving forward.

The new version of the schedule also introduces a different layout. While it is functional, it is currently less user friendly than the existing version, and we plan to improve this as part of the update process.

Planned timeline
From Monday next week, we will:
Make a static version of the schedule available to everyone
Update the schedule software
Improve the layout
Then allow hosts to begin adding listings again

During this transition, please expect up to one full day where the live schedule may look incorrect or function poorly.

The static/manual schedule will be visible to all users so everyone can clearly see what is being hosted and when.

Before this work begins, hosts may wish to take a manual backup of:
Images
Descriptions
Time slots

This should make re-listing content quicker and easier once the new system is live.

Please note that the schedule is one of the first things new players see when discovering VZones. While we do not currently have a policy restricting image types, AI-generated images will be hidden from users who are not logged in to avoid any potential misrepresentation of the VZones experience.
