    Dear Andy,

Members are grumbling. There are only 18 items in the prize room now. They cost much more than anyone could hope to win in a month before they are gone. That being said. Now is the time for you to sell them again. You sold Vouchers when you opened the Prize room and things were 75 and 100 vouchers. I dont think it will prevent people from playing games. The Prize rooms have shrunk from 3 to 1 now. Not including Wedding room. These people are used to buying Gold now. Buying Vouchers would be easy peasy..

I’m confused. The whole point was Andy said some people had too many vouchers and it was suggested to have some higher priced items in hopes that those people would get rid of their vouchers. I had suggested being able to buy gold if they had a bunch of vouchers so that they could purchase what they “really wanted” iw. Perhaps they play games but have no real interest in the items that are in the market. Andy didn’t seem to like that suggestion, but I don’t see the point of being able to buy vouchers if he was trying to get rid of the excess! I could see something like 40 Vouchers for 1 Gold as a temporary flash sale type thing.

I understand that some people dont have enough vouchers to purchase what they want, However more than 50% of none hosts have a balance greater than 300V.

We are trying to resolve multiple issues but in short it’s hyperinflation with oversupply. It’s also been less than 2 weeks since the change. It will take time for things to balance out. The direction vouchers was going was similar to the historical token issues (pre 2017).

A strong currency in any form is needed to see growth. Without this you get everything you want in the short term but then you don’t see anything new in the future which then goes to an economic collapse. In world terms that means no new art and nothing you want to buy or win, which then causes bordem.

The drop in the number of rooms is slow process to realocate time to monthly festivals where in time you will see new art and prize shop items available.

But whose going to buy an Easter basket for 80 vouchers or Rabbit ears for 50 vouchers, that’s insane, This isnt the real world, I would like to be able to go to one place where there isn’t inflation and I thought a pixel world would be it. guess not 🙁

Andy, Please try that explanation out in our Facebook.

A limited number of members regularly play games. Most of them are rich in vouchers. So you think that if you put unique high priced items in the Prize room they will use hundreds of vouchers for a few things? and that will set the world economy up? This is not the real world. This is a game.

I am not sure what you are asking me?

It might be a game but the effect is still the same which has a direct link to growth/change & improvement of the prize mart.

I think maybe Gia is suggesting that you post an “explanation” about the changes… good or bad. What I’ve found is people asking me <as a host> what’s going on. I’ve always felt people handle change better if they know what’s coming. From the average person’s perspective – they went into the prize market and not only were there less rooms/items but the pricing was a surprise. They had no clue what was happening and of course that leads to discussion amongst themselves and rumors rather than facts. Just maybe something to consider going forward?

We don’t have fixed values for the voucher shop, thats really the point of the shop that items change and values change. We don’t specify a fixed number of items, rooms or values. So every single month it should be different with the expection of a few higher ticket items that people can save up for.

To clarify the main reason for the latest update to the prize mart was with a longer term view that people want to see better quality new items compared to recycled old items and this update was one of the steps to do it.

The balance of all member vouchers was considered and the values updated to a level where for the majority it’s still more than affordable.

ANDY, when things from variations or the furniture store are (were) put into the prize room for vouchers they are 2 times the token or Gold price. That meant an 8 $ dress was 16 vouchers. a 5000 token dresss or hat was 10 vouchers.

I thought that was a kind of exchange rate. So bearing that in mind, we have objects in the prize room that would cost $50.00 Gold for a paint gun, $40. for a Classic Easter basket, and rabbit ears for $25.00. The ears are in Variations for $4.00. The Daisy Necklace set was 475 tokens. The Paint Gun is the only New object.

The people who have a lot of vouchers obviously enjoy playing games. They are not bored. Hosts engage with them and try to make new members feel right at home. They are gifting and sharing with each other. This is a nice world.

My question is WHY has the exchange rate changed?

To answer your question we do not have an exchange rate for vouchers.

An $8 going for 16 vouchers means 65% of members could buy this 18 times and still have enough vouchers to buy everything in the prize mart.

Adding to that a response sent to FB post this morning:

As we have an oversupply of vouchers putting a designated gold item into the prize market and then offering for a low value of vouchers compared to the average members holding balance then devalues to the AW item to the point it can never be sold for gold which means less funds go back into the pot for new art which leads to less new art come in, less work from the artist and a slow decline of new art. You have to consider a typical VIP member who never plays a game is creating 120V per year. If you are in the USA go to https://www.chuckecheese.com and you’ll see that you can play games for a day, win a few which will then let you get a small item on the same day from the prize stand. Similar to the 5 – 10 items we have available, but if you want something bigger then you need to save up the vouchers through the month. We got to a point where 50-65% of members have enough vouchers to purchase EVERY SINGLE item for the next 12 months without ever playing a game.

So to answer your question on why some of the items have increased and how that effects new art, it’s simply to not devalue an AW item to the point where it becomes worthless to stop the funding pot and as with limited new art supply then we need to protect the flow from artists to get more new art. I am aware less new art is an issue and something I will focus more on in the coming months.

We need to be allowed more than 2 games per hour then and need to do something to get ppl interested in hosting. the schedule used to have 1 game per hour, but thats not the case anymore. I play a lot of games, but i also use my vouchers every single time prize market is changed. with me playing as many games as i play, i average winning 120-150 vouchers a month. thats 1 thing from prize market and zero for Easter locales. i understand raising prices, but to go from 16 to 100 is extreme. if you look at all the posts here and look at our discussions on fb,or talk to your members, you will see most ppl are floored by these new prices. we are not getting bored. not one person has ever said, im bored of winning vouchers, i hope the price of everything goes to an amount ppl cant afford. what is boring to me is not being able to buy new things. playing games isnt worth it if you cant win enough to use the vouchers.

This is not the goal from VZones so not something we plan to offer. Speak to people IW and see who is willing to sell.

It’s been a week since the change. My suggestion would be to give it some time and see how things go over the next few weeks and months.

If you average 120-150v per month I am confused why you can’t buy anything from the easter prize area? You could buy 50% of the items for 120v.

I think your point shows the issue at the old rate you could buy every single item in the prize market every single month and still have left over vouchers but your looking at a smaller number of people who currently have a lower voucher count. The majority of member have a high enough level to still buy everything from the prize mart monthly.

No point adding 3 games per hour unless every slot at 2 games per hour was on the schedule and full of players. Currently it’s not.

i spent the ones i had at the prize market because we wasnt made aware we needed them for easter vendos. i got 3 items and now have 4 vouchers left from a month of games. 1 thing in the prize market is 50-100V each. so 120V a month gets 2 or 3 things max in prize market. if i had known the easter vendos were going to be this way, i woulda saved those and got 3 or 4 things from easter. theres noway i will be able to win enough before the locales close unless you will leave them open a few weeks.

Andy, when you first opened the voucher prize market, the prices were outrageous. LIKE TODAY. No one could win enough vouchers to buy any of the items. I played all the slingo I could find. The next months, did not improve. Suddenly we went from high prices to an added room with prizes from an event a few weeks before. all lower prices. A few events later the prizes were put in right after the event. (Not the best idea). That killed putting event prizes into the voucher price room. But it did make for added voucher rooms with lots of selections at reasonable prices. Now we are back to square one. It didnt work then and It wont work now.

Just another two cents… So this should be a fun weekend for all and instead it seems like a lot of people have been grumbling as Gia said. I had to limit how many bunnies to have available at the hunt times because I asked for the amount I would normally get and it was way less. My first helper was inundated by hunters and ran out of her allotted amount for the hour within 20 minutes. So, that was grumbling one. Then, people were grumbling about the general prize market while waiting for games to start… as a host, I’m sure this doesn’t help them trying to bring FUN to players when there’s been 15 minutes of frustration beforehand. There has been a LOT of grumbling that @CosmicAndy doesn’t really listen to the people that are paying for “their” world and the experiences they receive paying real world money and when for some this is their major form of entertainment and socialization with friends they’ve developed over the years. This seems to be a major disconnect between management and their customers. THEN if you were someone who didn’t spend your vouchers for months, you were able to buy the Easter Festival Vendo items …. otherwise you were SOL <sh*t outta luck>. Which brings us to the fact that this, while being a good effort, was NOT an event as members expected. There was no event page, which caused confusion. Beforehand, there was confusion for hosts about taking off their games and unfortunately this also left some hours with no games/fun at all. I get it, Andy, you’re trying to make some adjustments, changes, etc………… but honestly, right now, a LOT of people are going through a LOT of changes and adjustments in their real world so what they NEED is to come IW to escape from all that. They need a place that has consistency. They need a place that is focused on them having a good experience … bang for their buck so to speak and that encourages them to build a community where everyone is accepted and helped. You might say, “HEY, That doesn’t pay my bills!” But, there are people spending their limited funds on Vzones, can we try to do better for them? While I personally think it shows some positivity that you are trying to bring some new things, please don’t shake everyone up and not HEAR their voices. I have done events since I’ve returned… always have had positive response. It takes a lot of work, I espmail all hosts several times beforehand reminding them to sign up. I usually try to boost the “FUN” factor. I try to come up with different prize ideas… and usually, they’ve been older things just painted differently or used in a different way. I’ve come up with hunts. I even built a locale in a turf that was used to get the Moose at Springtime in the Rockies. I’m not saying all this to get a pat on the back……….. I’m just saying events take ORGANIZATION, ORGANIZATION, ORGANIZATION! Again, good effort, but not at all what customers/members expected. And, PLEASE, listen to your members. We have Suggestion boxes iw…………….. do they actually work? Will you hear what they are saying? Everyone wants to hang on but they seem to be saying they feel they are hanging by a thread. Thank You for your attention to this post. I’m sorry it’s so long. Xie.

Xie, thank you for the post. All feedback good and bad is taken on board. We have a dedicated manager for festivals like this and all comments will be passed onto that person while we work as a team to improve. I understand a lot of changes at once and not just with the weekend festival but with bots ( prize delivery), forums etc which it’s not great especially if you have expectations on how something is going to happen which then for some can lead to disappointment, if it’s not what was excpected.

It’s been a week since the change in vouchers and my suggestion would be to give it some time and see how things go over the next few weeks and months.
