EmmParticipantOk, i understand we’re going to get 1 DP voucher and 2 items to hand out. my worries is in the items. i checked, there are roughly 100 games this week, so in a month there will be 400 x 2 non voucher prizes. i dont think we have 400 people playing game, a serious surplus of items will occur and the same thing will happen with mediaplayers, just in world on the floor.
i enjoyed the voucher system and seriously was hoping for more expensive items in a superprizemarket or something, to give us choice.
Games and rares and collections keep this world going, not an abundance of the same item in world.
This is not a bitchrant, more a worry about people getting tired of the same pixel soon, as we see at the end of the month in raffle and radio.
Thoughts anyone?

Lori WilliamsonMemberI see your points, at this time i have no thoughts as to what might work though. I do agree with Your concern.

CosmicAndyOrganizerThis is just April for the DP.
It’s not meant to be 3 DP per game. It should be 1. This will change from May.
The main issue is that the average member has enough vouchers right now to purchase every item in the prize market for the next 12 months all in one go. They have become some what worthless at the current value and some of the items available are G AW which is causing the value of the G items to go down. In the short term the price of items in the prize market will increase before we make some further changes on the number of items available to claim, the voucher cost and the type of items available (smaller number/higher quality).

EmmMemberOk, I see where you’re going with this, and that makes sense, get rid of the surplus of vouchers iw. You could consider selling an empty 10 room turf maybe for big voucher prize.
100V, 20k i think is the going rate. a tst turf goes for 200k in the auction on an average day, so 1000V for a tst turf sounds reasonable, and im sure it would kill off a ton of vouchers quickly. A buying and selling voucher market would get created, a new incentive to play. This parallel of course with your plans.

CosmicAndyOrganizerDo you think this idea would have the same impact for a 10 room in another location from TST?

Lord-WintersMemberi believe that it would have a big impact in the grand scheme of things. as Emm stated…. opening up a voucher market for highly sought after items/ locale turfs would help eat up alot of the surplus. but i do have an thought…. maybe, instead of doing vouchers at all…. why not make prize sets with items in them but change them out weekly as not to cause so many to be in circulation and it will make the value of the prizes high in demand, therefore driving more players to attend games to obtain them

EmmMemberThere is a high demand for empty turfs 10 rooms where rent can be paid up for a few months for people to store collections for example.
I can see it work for a 10 room turf in riverview with a 3 months rent pay go, since it has a teleporter for easy access
This place runs on games, collectables and moving pixels from turf to turf.
I’d fork out 1000v for that also it would be big incentive for people to play more games I think

CosmicAndyOrganizerVoucher exchange for tokens has never been a thing direct with VZones, but no reason why a member could not offer this service to others.

RhiannonMemberIf anyone has a surplus of vouchers, they would like to get rid of hit me up 😉 I never have enough for what I want in Prize Mart and run out every month! LOL

XieTooMemberI’m with Rhi… I don’t know who these people are that have an over-abundance of vouchers and tokens. I feel that the whole system is out of whack – I’m not VIP so I don’t earn many tokens and I never have enough vouchers. I’ve noticed that there seems to be a number of people that have an enormous amount of tokens so that they can purchase items at Auctions, It’s definitely a “have or have not” tiered society inworld and I’m not sure that I’d like to encourage more of that. Someone who already has alot of vouchers can buy a specialty item and then eventually resell it for a lot of tokens, once again “have or have not”. Maybe…. offering something that cannot be sold for profit? Years ago there were too many items iw and people were encouraged to pawn… I believe there was a special prize for the person that had the highest total (like a mailbox in their turf or something?). It was something that stayed glued to their turf and couldn’t be resold at profit. Not sure I’m explaining this well, but hope it makes some sense.

CosmicAndyOrganizerIt’s very mixed but you need to consider we have people IW who have accounts going back to the 90’s. In 2017 we did a token revaluation to balance out the problems from the past but we also have people who trade a lot and make high tokens from that.

XieTooMemberI originally joined in ’96. When I left around 2012-ish I left a friend with all my stuff and when I returned I had no real hope of anything being there for me. I was staying a month. lol So, I understand there are people that are in a different stratosphere. I think I’m going to have to start a business iw <s> At least the cost of the <quest> eggs were affordable, not like rw!! lol

XieTooMemberHmm… been thinking about this Andy. People “hoarding” vouchers might just mean they don’t have any interest in the items available. What if Gold could be purchased with vouchers so that they could buy anything they wanted iw that had a Gold price tag <heads, clothing, items in Variations window, etc> I wonder how that would be received/utilized if available for at least a trial period. PLUS…. that might encourage more players if they felt they could use their vouchers towards something that they really wanted. I know it would be of interest to me because I don’t buy a lot in the market.

April 3, 2025 at 2:07 pm #495913

CosmicAndyOrganizerWell it’s a mix between it’s items they don’t need/want and they have enough to buy every single item at the current rate. V to G exchange would cause the value of G to get down which is critical to getting new art and feature IW. More popular items at a higher tag is the way forward but still keeping some lower value items for newbies and collectors.

XieTooMemberSorry, Andy, I didn’t mean to get rid of Prize Market totally, but add the ability to purchase gold as well for those that don’t want/need those items. Just tossing out an idea, but my brain hurts lol I’m sure you’ll figure what’s best.

AngelsloveMemberI am New to this world. I spend a lot on Voucher items but Eighteen buys nothing so IDK what the solution is but I do know this. Flooding World with the same stuff isn’t gonna be good. Right now the DP’s are awesome. Everyone wants a set like at Events, but once everyone gets each one they won’t care as much. Need to make it like Pan game Prizes. This week these, next week that, and so on. Also, it would be nice if I could even use my vouchers to purchase DP’s. I like the 1 Voucher area. I always buy at least 2 sets every month. I have spent 100 Vouchers on a 10 room Turf that I haven’t been able to get, and a 1 week special turf that, I am unable to get because I can’t seem to reach Cosmic Andy like ever.. LOL.. Also peeps love Event prizes, and Double Voucher week. I get the most players at these games. I hope this helps from a newbie’s point of view.

CosmicAndyOrganizerI will try to catch you IW today for the turf and thank you for the feedback. The idea for weekly rather than monthly is good and I will make note of this for the future.
