@CosmicAndy I had set up a game turf in TST and just for friends, not on the game schedule. I was under the impression that the only locales for public games were to be in Game Dome. Since there is now a public auction held in TST and on the game schedule has that rule changed? If so, I’ll want to use my turf………. can you please clarify if this is allowed? TY.

My auctions is private and this why it is held a personal and private turf not in public., also I am not sponsored by VZ or any of its staff. The voucher’s I hand out for DPs are the one I win.

    thanks

Just fyi, if you’re in the host forum, you must be sponsored by staff. “This group is exclusively for approved game and event hosts in VZones. It serves as a dedicated space for hosts to collaborate, share insights, and discuss all aspects of managing and running successful games and events.”

@Happy_Tobe_Here @Tabitha @CosmicAndy I was asking because I wanted clarification as it was on the schedule. I thought only sponsored games were on there, otherwise I could put a game on the schedule and use my own prizes. The other thing is…. if someone isn’t an official host, how would they have access to the host forum or schedule? What do you consider “private” hosting ? Just trying to understand according to the host rules.

@CosmicAndy @Tabitha see https://www.vzones.com/help/game-hosting-rules/ I’m looking at 8 and 13. I was under the impression that I could do an impromptu game if there was nothing on the schedule and was just trying to round up peeps to come and have a game at my turf. It’s rather confusing because 13 says games need to be on the schedule. So, does that mean if I choose to do an impromptu game, use my own prizes, but I also put it on the schedule? If I put it on the schedule, it then becomes public, not private………. or am I wrong? Again, want clarification.

The rules listed at https://www.vzones.com/help/game-hosting-rules/ are correct. @XieToo happy was approved for host and schedule access because he is hosting unsupported events that are open to the public, which was pre-approved by VZ. The same opportunity is available to anyone: if you wish to host a non game event in a public area or in a turf open to everyone, it can be added to the schedule with prior agreement. For example, if a member wants to host a welcome home party for Emm at their own turf and open the doors to all for fun and games, it can take a one-hour slot on the schedule. However, private events, such as an underground roulette game for only three people, cannot be scheduled.

@CosmicAndy Ok, so let me get this straight….. If I want to host a “Jester’s Come Home” event in a turf I decorated for that specifically, or, at a certain locale like HG, I just have to ask for approval (what would cause it to NOT be approved?) and then I can add it to any open hour (just ONE hour or can it be any open HOURS on a day?). For instance, I get all my stuff together and announce there will be a “Pop-Up” event coming soon… be on the look out! And then, when I see a day that doesn’t have much scheduled, I could have people in but NOT do games in it?? But, I could do a Raffle?? Or, could I do games with my own prizes? Can I do games where people bid on prizes where I can make tokens like games on Price is Right?

Since I’ve hosted numerous events now, you know that I’m capable enough to organize something like this. Do I need to ask for approval each time, or do I get a “blanket” approval and just let you know when I’m interested in doing different ones?

Also, many years ago we were able to host in TST, but then it had to be Game Dome. Does it matter at this point?

And, if anyone is allowed to come, it’s still considered a PUBLIC “event”, not PRIVATE, isn’t it?

I have another idea for random games, but I’ll send it to you via the event email.

    Thanks for clarifying (I think).

If you host a regular games in the hour slot then you could theme it jesters come home and run it from game dome. Regular prizes could be used.

If you want to theme it jesters come home, make the build in game dome and ask hosts if they want to host within your build. Each host would take an hour slot on the schedule and host it from your build at game dome or you could take for example 5 hours on the schedule, host it from game dome and agree 5 games hosted within the 5 hour slot. Regular prizes could be used per game but have it under yout single 5 hour slot/listing.

If you host something one off totally different that’s not a game. Auction/Party/Radio Show/Musical Chairs and want to take a slot on the schedule you’ll need to make ticket or request on the forum your idea, what and when you want to take on the schedule.

In summary if you take 5 hours on schedule it needs 5 games.
It needs to be from game dome if it’s a custom build.

We want people to host new/different things so if it’s public and open to all then anything should be approved.

@CosmicAndy Sorry, I edited my questions just as you replied.

Not poking at any one person, but I’m still not understanding why a public auction can be held in TST but nothing else can be since I already had a couple game locales built there already (used for when I was practicing).

Is it only because it’s considered a “Non-Game”?? (which seems like an odd reason, but <shrug>).

I’ll add one other thing…. I always disliked Game Dome from many years ago, still do, and rarely go to games there. I can’t explain it…. I’m sure it’s PTSD for some reason or another from back in the day when I was a DS’r. We all have our quirks I guess.

I agree. I don’t like the games there either. I prefer to be out in the open.

So, we can host anywhere if it is a non-game? What all is considered a non-game…. only auctions? So I could do an auction and put on the schedule, have a group of helpers, then we could make profits, and then sell our tokens for actual cash?

  • #510072

YES! but keep in mind most of my stuff isn’t as nice or costly as the VZ auctions teams has, it more for the the folks that might get something nice they couldn’t have before and for cheap….. I also give a lot away not only in JP donations but it items also….this isn’t really for profits as i spend almost all of it on my accounts and more AW or such things, reinvestments.

also i think were losing what Andy said…., public Locale OR private turf not THE public people. any game or non game that isn’t sponsored by VZ can be in a private turf and open to the public, you cant host an auction in public like nhe.

@XieToo The Game Dome was a popular spot for NH players and remains part of VZ’s history that’s why we’ve kept it. Back in 2017, we made a rule that games with prizes from VZ should be played out in the open to attract players and make the world feel more alive. The Game Dome was kept as an exception due to its historical significance.

The game dome allows hosts to design/theme/brand regions to host in which is the very cool part about it.

Non game activities held in a private turf but open to the public like an auction could be something entirely different and up to the creator’s imagination: art exhibitions, radio shows, birthday parties, tarot card readings, and so on.
