I don’t have a problem…. Kimmie does and asked for assistance. I just responded to her. (she was requesting four doorprizes from event hosts when we are only allowed to choose three now)

@CosmicAndy I had posted this in the “news” forum: “Maybe there could be a bus stop near the Market Place <like how rw buses would stop for shopping>. Plus… I made the suggestion at a town hall meeting once that maybe, also in the Market Place area, shop owners could have doorways that lead to their shops. I don’t think it’s the distance to Game Dome as much as people just like to play games on street locales. I agree with Nutz that a Bus Stop Hub with benches outside would be cute with a door or arch leading to a “BUS” where you’d go inside to a game area with seating looking like you’re sitting on a bus.”
Is that something that is possible, as other people that host STB would be able to utilize it.

I think a lot has to do with the prizes available PLUS having a third game per hour now. If the prizes are more “sought after”, you will have people playing more games. If the prizes are “eh”, you won’t find people as interested. On the other hand, certain games like Blitz have a smaller number of people who are SO good at it, they win consistently and any others don’t have a chance to win prizes at those games. I mean seriously, I could play Blitz all day but unless other players don’t show up, there’s no way I could win a top prize lol And, that’s fine. You also have people (how they do it I don’t know) playing two games at a time and therefore their chances of winning what they want increases before the third day.
My event mid-May is going to be three days. I’m HOPING that the prizes, a hunt and a costume contest will be plenty to keep people happy and wanting to play but also for the F U N of playing games. I’ll be encouraging hosts to consider bringing their own special FLAIR to their games to draw players in as well.
There are always going to be people that just want to play games for fun and others that want the prizes………. Hopefully the majority wants both!

@CosmicAndy I’ve started working on locales, but will need some assistance/tweaking <not twerking> done.

Tabs is saying that she and mir had signed up to host in the same event locale and players had to move (they could have just changed it on the schedule, but it added to the clown chaos). The schedule is still not host or player friendly from the information I’ve been hearing. I happened to catch it during one of my events and asked Tabs to change locales on the schedule beforehand. Basically, when a host is going to sign up they have to check all other games on the schedule to see what room other hosts are in first………… for one game, not a big deal, but if someone hosts twelve games it’s a royal PITA. The little boxes in each time slot is annoying. I had asked if we could have each game on it’s own line which would be visually much easier (something like Emm’s schedule, but more condensed. If you are limited due to the structure of the program, it’s understandable, but it’s still a PITA. Hope that explains everything.

I’m not sure if this makes sense (trying to wrap my head around the new schedule still), but… Let’s say I needed to take a leave for a month and informed my regular players that I would be out for that month and in the meanwhile Emm, for instance, agreed to be a substitute host. He would have that time slot temporarily, with the agreement that if I were not to return that time slot could be his permanently if so desired. Basically I would be giving up my “rights” to that time slot if I hadn’t returned. If I returned sooner, he would still have that time slot for the agreed upon length of time (4 weeks) and let him know I was ready to resume my time slot the following week.
In regards to what you said above…. are you suggesting we allow two of the same game during a particular time slot? noooooooooo….. please don’t do this. Some hosts provide their own special prizes or ways of doing things and it might only create more issues between hosts and we should be supportive of other hosts, not in competition with them.

I’m old school. Playing an alt while hosting a game was always a no-no. Playing and/or winning prizes as an Event host was kind of frowned on because an event host already got a set of prizes . When I returned, I stuck to that idea but quickly found things are different now. So, I’ll play a few games during an event I host but I pass or give prizes to others if they are really looking for a certain item. For me, it’s pixels. I’m not a collector. I like my accessories. I really enjoy creating events for others the most of anything I do iw aside from chatting with friends, so no ulterior motives here. When I host, it’s me, unless my dog, Max, has managed to figure out how to log onto my laptop when I’m asleep. He’s pretty smart so I wouldn’t be shocked!

@CosmicAndy What day did the bot send out prize sets? Since I had a problem with the schedule I was only able to get my games back on yesterday afternoon and I have four games this month – today, tenth, seventeenth, twenty-fourth. If prizes were sent out before yesterday afternoon, that is why I didn’t get any from the bot yet. TY

@CosmicAndy Hey Andy… I also need prize sets for February. I gave out extras that I had to various hosts as they hadn’t gotten theirs yet.

@CosmicAndy I’m not seeing the normal drop-down under the schedule where I used to be able to add a game. All I see is “Host List” once again… I think this is what happened the last time I had a problem. Maybe someone can post a picture of the drop-down menu they see when they click on the “Schedule” tab at the top. And, Andy, I’ll need your help with this. TY.

Actually…. Go to Game Winners – VZones and create a thread there each month. You’ll see what others do, usually the title would be “Ashley’s January 2026 Game Winners” or something like that. Then, in the text put “My January Game Winners Here” and post. Once you do that, you will create a “reply” for each time you want to post winners. Close to the end of the month, create one for the next month. Hope this helps. Also, once I create the month’s post, I bookmark it for easy retrieval.

Andy… I don’t know what options you might have available, but years ago the schedule was so much easier to read with each game on it’s own line, different hours had alternating colors. So, if there were three games at 12noon they would be listed one below the other and , say, in yellow. The next two games at 1pm would be listed on their own line and be in light blue. And, so on. I know, especially some of our older members, have difficulty reading the schedule as it is and just tossing this out there in case this could be a consideration. TY.

Hi Mikey… most “normal” events are over the two-day weekend, but Andy had started doing one-day events about a year or so ago. He’s asked me to assist people wanting to do events and I would say to use the form to submit your idea seeking approval and go from there. Organizing events now is different than it was years ago and feel free to contact me iw so I can talk to you about it. Cheers.

I understand… this was all happening during my last event, when Tom was out for a bit because the Inn was sold, then he returned and was surprised that his spot was filled. I explained that people were covering for him also in order for the time slots to not be blank. I think that a lot of things can be resolved if people just speak to each other imho.

There are more hosts now and if you look on the schedule you will see more time slots have two games per hour, not like we had for a long time with just one game. Of course, that takes players. But, I did see something strange yesterday…. two bump games being held in different locales because of the schedule issues.
